i just got the elite 7 and want to copy all of my dads way points. i believe he has a lowrance LMS527. i figured out how to get through the menu to the point of saving way points to card but when i put my 8g sd card in slot it tells me to insert MMC card. from the research i have done it seems MMC cards are extinct. i have also read that the older units cant read the new SD cards with the large amount of storage. i found an old 256mb SD card will it work?

Waypoint files are very small. The 256 mb card will do just fine. That age unit can only use up to 2 gb cards. Check your E7 to be sure the format is the same as the LMS unit.

You should be able to find the info in your manual. The lms format is usr.
