Look at the Dobyns 806 ML SB (Mike Long Signature Swimbait). Rated for 20-40# test line and 2-8 oz baits. It's a heavy rod with fast action tip. We've got them in stock here at Oak Ridge Marina.

I'm not sure if I can do better than an LDC for 200 bucks. That's a good price for what I hear about these rods.

like the man says...if you're swimming in the ocean and get bitten by a shark, its not a shark attack. You're in THEIR neighborhood. If you're at home in your shower, turn around and a shark is in there with you...THAT'S a shark attack

And I'm talking about baits ranging from 2 oz, to 9 oz.

I just got my hands on a new Castaway Skeleton XXDeep Casting rod. I originally got it for the new 10XD Crankbait and noticed that the weight range on it is from 2-4oz. It is 7'6" and is a great rod for the Big Crankbaits but it works great for the bigger Swimbaits and even the Alabama Rig.

I use a Dobyns 806 ML SB and love it. Whatever rod you choose, if you're going to be throwing baits 3+ oz. make sure you have a long handle on it. (23+ inches). It will make throwing big baits much more enjoyable long term.

I like this rod a lot! It is perfect for 2 ounce+ baits. I have another one on order.
