We are looking in the Flower Mound, Lewisville area, But also The Colony and Frisco, even over to Wylie. My question is which of the lakes in the metro area are the better or favorite tournament lakes? I appreciate your feedback, and CANT WAIT to get there!!

If you are moving to the metro mess then living on the East side will give you access to the most lakes.

Well, I've considered ST. Paul, Wylie and Garland for that exact reason. I guess I am wondering how Lewisville is by comparison to other metro lakes? It seems huge and a lot of places were looking at are around Lewisville/Grapevine. Just wonder if Id feel like I goofed by not being on the east side or not on another "home lake".

In the end I guess for what I'm used to, it will all be awesome.

Grew up and still reside in Lewisville. Its 115 miles to the best lake in Texas, Lake Fork. Take less than 2 hours to get there even on a Friday leaving the house at 6:30-7:00 p.m. Lewisville Lake is obviously close, Grapevine is close and Ray Roberts is 30 minutes north.

Lewisville looks like a big lake but fishes small. During the summer its a madhouse out there. Go early or late and leave the idiots out there during the day. Some years its good for bass fishing, some years it sucks. Right now I hear it is good. Grapevine has been doing real good this year and is usually consistently good. Its like fishing in an oversized pond though. HAHA! Fork is where its at! Ray Bob is good too but if you don't know the lake you are limited to areas that are easily accessed. There are some regulars on the TFF that know it like the back of their hand and can fly thru all the trees like madmen leaving your pucker factor at about a 12.

So there you are. If you need a house Barrett McClendon is your man. (still waiting on my hat Barrett!)

Thanks Louie, that's useful info there. I think I'm on the right track, I've had to go 2 hrs. up big gas sucking hills to get to decent stuff, so I imagine Ill be pretty impressed by what you guys may consider average.

I've been in town twice looking around and the area looks really nice people taking pride in their homes etc. hopefully crime is low, still gotta check on that, but it cant be worse so, I'm just really excited for us to get there and settle in.

I thank you guys for the feedback.

I would say move over here to Grapevine but don't know what your budget is..houses are not cheap here..Flower Mound is a good area and you can get to THE VINE really quick..which is where I can be found most of the time..

If you are looking in Lewisville, let me know the area and if I know I will def give you a heads up about crime. I'm a LEO myself and have several buddies who work for Lewisville. I live in an older neighborhood but I grew up in this neighborhood. Good people and never had any trouble personally. Either way, welcome to the area.

Moved to Pilot Point area. We are close to Ray roberts, Lewisville and Texoma. Pretty good area and good access to some good lakes.

Well, I really appreciate all the info. While I haven't ruled anything 100% OUT, for some reason I keep getting pulled into the area from Colony over to Grapevine and many spots in between. Shoot, we've found sooo many nice places its getting really tough to decide particularly with not knowing the local knowledge of which way traffic goes, if there is "crimey" spots etc. If I ended up in Flower Mound, Id be very happy so close to 2 lakes and ONLY 30-45mins from many others. That's nothing compared to how far I'm used to.

I've seen good things from Grapevine on youtube. The TXTT looks GREAT. I will be in on that deal as soon as possible. Thanks so much. Ill let ya know Louie when we get down to 10 houses or so.

Yes, I've been looking hard in THE VINE haha, too, nice area. Looked a little in Southlake and Trophy Club also. All seem real nice.

NO no, I haven't counted ANYTHING out yet. There is a few places in Wylie That I have really liked, and that puts me right near Lavon AND Roberts or Hubbard, I been getting confused with all the Rays. I know its one if them tho.

Where will you be working? Makes a big difference in commute time. Where are you moving from?
