Hamilton Beach from Wally - World. About 10 -15 bucks. They'll last just as long if not longer than the Mister Twister or American Angler. Mine is still live and kickin after 12 years of use.

Thank you vedy much. Just payed $50.00 at Bass Pro for a Rapala that I thought might be a good one and was very disapointed. It could bairly get through the bones in a Crappy I didn,t want to try it on a redfish in a couple pf weeks.

Wow! I love my Rapala. I fillet some catfish the other day and it looked like butcher cuts. Can I have your Rapala?

I have an old 12v Rapala, it is a little slow but works very well. I also have a Piranha from Mr. Twister and like it too.

Either of them are faster than doing it with a regular knife, hands down.

I gotta say no to all, tried the cheap one, have a new twister and new saltwater American angler, none of them are worth two dead flies.

I had a American angler lasted 12 years of hard dang work, these don't last three months. Now to be honest they all work fine on trout, no big deal there, but they all fail on a 26" redfish, looks like back to a real knife for them.

redfish will work a fillet knife but i found a little sharpener that will revive a slow cutting knife. example: http://www.tractorsupply.com//ProductDis...p;storeId=10151 i will give the blades a once over before a cutting session.

Hamilton Beach or Black & Decker!!

Faster speed and a straight blade.

Is that different than the American angler? I have one of those and two saltwater mr twisters I'll throw in the dumpster tomorrow for something decent.

My old American angler knife was mistreated, neglected, abused, and filleted at least two tons of fish before it finally stripped out the gears. They were sure bragging on their new one as being MUCH better than the old. I'd give a crispy for a new/old American angler knife. And guard it like the queen it is.

My buddy at Hackberry Rod and Gun swears by Hamilton Beach and he cleans thousands each month.

yeah - I think it was the old American Angler - and yeah - that one was the best and I liked the angle on it forming a longer blade and the fact it was sharp all the way to the point so ya could really it move around the redfish bones with some finesse and get 'all' the meat.

I used to use a Spyderco Sharp Maker on my Rapala blades and they stayed very sharp, made a difference.

The serrations on the Mr. Twister are a little too tight for my sharpener, but replacements are pretty cheap.

Now I've been cutting up to the ribs with the electric and using a capping knife to separate the ribs from the meat on larger fish.
