After going on trips and getting called away early the idea of sleeping outside and pitching a tent on my yak trips just got old.Breaking down seems worse and the wind makes it WORSER.(I know that aint' a word but it should be.)I decided to build a mini camper to take on my yak'in trips. AC, Flat Screen TV and steaming from my iPhone so wherever I have 4g I have Netflix and HBO go, Fridge and a roof fan, Full size pillow top mattress, and a portable BBQ will be my kitchen. Here are some Start to finish pics. Next stop Port Aransas and the Light House Trails.Free trailer...Thanks Joel and scavenging for parts made this cost right around $650.00. It pulls like a dream and NO MORE TENTS! I had to pull my yaks off for a trip to Dallas to watch the Rangers but hey! this rig will play.

That thing rocks doc! Nice workmanship and layout. I "converted" the shell of my truck to a platform with full size matress and the difference in sleeping in a tent vs. a real bed on overnighters is night and day...certainly at my age. smile The decals and Shasta wings are a great touch.

What is your power source - generator, shore power, both?

Wow!! That's freakin' amazing. Build them in a little brighter colors and you could make a fortune selling them. Heck, you could make a fortune selling them in bland colors! Very nice.

I was an avid tent camper before I was married. My wife made me see the light and now I have a $20,000 bathroom parked in my back yard! I have thought about something similar made from a truck utility camper for my trips without the family. Impressed with this build! You did a great job!
