I'm looking to get a good swim bait rod. I have a re purposed Daiwa Heartland, but it has pretty bad action. I see a lot of new rods out there now. Just trying to see what others are using, and opinions.

like the man says...if you're swimming in the ocean and get bitten by a shark, its not a shark attack. You're in THEIR neighborhood. If you're at home in your shower, turn around and a shark is in there with you...THAT'S a shark attack

G. Loomis Big Bait GL2 Rods are about as close to custom as you can get... Ideal for heavier baits. For baits 8oz and under the Dobyns 806 and 807 are great. I haven't had an opportunity to mess with their newer, beefier rods yet. You can find a deal once in a while if you look around online.

IN MY OPINION, the new Manley platinum 7'3 medium heavy seems to be a great swimbait rod, used it last weekend at ceder, seems to be a winner for sure

Custom built swimbaits rod by AMAC Custombuilt Rods. It's a perfect design, I can fish a big swimbait or umbrella rig with it.

I have a reaction strike swimbait series rod I'd sell it's never been used at all. It's 9' soft tip medium action lure weight 1/2 to 2 oz. nice rod I have one that I use and this was a backup. Pm me if interested.

If you're in the DFW area you're more than welcome to test out my LDC swimbait tossers. But you'll throw rocks at everything else once you do....

I have a 9' Muskie rod I built a few months ago for big swimbaits that works great. I would be willing to sell if anyone is looking for one.

That's the one I use for big swimbaits. Paired with a Calcutta 300TE.

Depending on the weight of the Swimbait- But as a general all around multi-purpose rod I go with the Castaway Skeleton 7'6" Flipping rod. (For the lighter baits I like my Castaway DD22 Crankbait 7'10" rod.)
