 HDS 10 ON A BOAT IN A BOAT SLIP...NOT SMART...What would you do??

On a local lake that I fish there is a boat that is for sale in the slip of a boathouse. It has a HDS10 on it. Its sitting right there out in the open. Its been there for 3 weeks now. I am considering calling them and advising that they remove that unit from the boat until it sells. Leaving it out in the open like that is just asking for it to get stolen.
What would you do????

I need to add that the phone number is hard to read on the for sale sign so I would need to get on their dock to get the number to call them.
Then with my luck they come out shooting...lol

That would be my fear, that it is a Sting. Therefore, I would probably tell the local lake patrol or game warden.

Hell, if its been there for 3 weeks and its still there sound like a pretty safe lake....  It wouldn't be at Fork overnight!

this or just leave it alone, how much theft is there around this lake? they may have a motion sensor system on the dock too so they don't worry much. one bad thing about it is if you warn them and it still gets stolen then your a possible suspect.

My 1st instinct is to notify the people too, I don't want them getting stuff stolen. But at the same time, I don't want to be involved, in case something does happen. Unfortunately, I would let them learn the hard way. It might hammer home the lesson too...
