I've always been a Motorguide user but a boat I'm buying soon has a Minnkota Fortrex on it. For those that have used both, should I keep the Fortrex and get used to the petal or swap it for the Motorguide Digital Tour which I'm used to??

I love my Fortrex. The ease of deployment is worth getting used to the pedal imho.

I just switched to a fortrex. Mount is much better, lift assist is great. Getting used to pedal.

I run a MG digital tour. 24 volt powers my boat the whole weekend on single charge. The only problem I had was when prop broke and it became unbalanced, Water in the lower unit fried circuit board and repair was aprox 300.00.

I'm sure the Fortrex is an excellent unit I just have no experience with it.

If you want to keep the local TM repair shop in business, get a MG.
If you want to be able to chew up and spit out weeds or pull yourself around all day in the wind, get a MK.

Minnkota, tx lakes full of stumps, composite shafts don't break or bend MG do. I've had both, If you fish deep MG are find nothing to hit. but even then you can't beat a terrova with I-pilot it's like powerpoles in deep water.
