 What did i do wrong???

I went out to galveston and fished inshore on the island. I used every color combo. Different types of lure and different methods. But... Nada. What did i do wrong. I was wadefishing. Fish were jumping. Tailing and everything. Wind was calm. Water warm. I think i did everything right. Was it just a bad day?
Im A landlocked bay fisherman who lives an hour out! Making it down whenever i can so i can live that SaltLife!!!

Blueish grayish. And i was fishing the state park where the tide dosent move much.

If they were jumping out of the water...I say mullet. Not many fish jump out of saltwater for no reason.

I have some videos of big schools right up against the bank in the salt grass and was pitching stuff at them to no avail.
Tied on a Model A bomber and they finally hit it. Sometimes you have to throw something at them that is out of the ordinary to get them to kill it out of curiosity!
...so good it tastes like it died screaming!
