I don't but its a pia to remove and put back on everytime. Front is on a ram mount and helm is on mount in dash.

Nope... only takes 3 minutes to do front and back.

I leave mine on the boat all the time...of course when I am not on the water with it, it is in my garage...only time I remove it is if I stop on the way home from the lake...

I don't think trailering is any worse on it for wear and tear (unless you wreck then you have other issues to worry about) than running in rough water...of course that's my opinion

I keep it in garage, so I put em back on just not hooked up when I get home, I'm thinking of leaving them on, especially on short trips to local lakes.

$1500 to $1800 for 3 minutes work. I don't make that kind of money to replace them with all the thieves out there, so it's well worth it to take them off. Even at home, in the garage. I sleep hard and I'd never know until it's too late.

I leave mine on. The boat goes right back in the garage when it's not on the water. Never had a problem.

Short trip yes, long trip with stops frequented by meth monkey type people no.

Had a friend that was driving to a tournament with his on a few years back. When he got there you could see where it had been ripped off. Said he thought he hit a deer. Whatever he hit, that unit was toast and he had to fish without one that day. Ever since that morning I've taken mine off when driving more than a mile or two.

Nope. My luck I would have a rock bounce up at 70mph and destroy one. I am not a fan of theft either.

Off. All it takes is one good rock from a gravel truck.
