I'm thinking my motor on my boat is having some kind of issue. My boat is a 2008 legend alpha 211 with a mercury 225 opti max. I've been told and was also thinking that this boat should run around 70. What do y'all think should I take it in or is this normal? If you have this type setup would you let me know how fast yours is. Thanks in advance.

I have a buddy who has a 2011 211 that has a 250 Pro XS on it. His boat is loaded to the top with fishing gear but during the spring and summer it runs in the 68 MPH range with a 25 pitch prop if this helps. I would think if you are loaded and can get 64 you are in the range of what it will do. I think it should run in the 68 to 70 range completely empty of tackle and gear. The gas will have to about a 1/4 tank and live wells empty to get 70 MPH

If you ha e two people and are fully loaded with all your gear then that's probably spot on. You may push a few more hp with a furry and jack plate in the right spot.

I HAVE AN 08 211 ALPHA with 250 merc xps and empty with just myself i got 73 out of it once...usually 71 or so.....has a jackplate and 25 p fury prop

I have no idea. But interested in the responses. I thought the alphas were mid-upper 70's rigs.

Im at lake fork right at the legends tourny, and i ran up on a legend with a 225. I think it was a 199, dont know for sure. Anyway he was running 75 when i passed him. I was really impressed with the speed of that boat.

Well it must be just about right then because it has a lot of tackle and two talons on it. Just wondering because a few friends thought it should push 70

I had an 07 LE with a 225 optimax. Loaded it would run 65.

This boat has a 25 pitch fury as well. I set the jack plate and then had to lower it a little because I would push to many rpms.

I would think it could get a little more, maybe have your prop tweeked a little.

With a light load and running into a little chop, I would think upper 60's maybe 70.
