Want to purchase a minnkota 101 w/built in transducer. What do I need to order to hook it up to 998? Are you planning on connecting the US2 to the unit and not have SI or DI?

Want to purchase a minnkota 101 w/built in transducer. What do I need to order to hook it up to 998? Are you getting the i-Pilot or i-Pilot Link? Or just a 101 with the US2? The US2 "built-in transducer" only achieves sonar and not side/down image. Give me a call and I can discuss all the options available. I can also give you a quote on the items as well. I have an 898 SI and have used up pretty much all the internal memory with waypoints. What's the best way to take those from the unit to my pc and be able to choose which ones will go back to the unit via sd card with out actually typing in the coordinates?

You should have downloaded and installed HumminbirdPC from your Humminbird account IF you have a PC.
You Export the waypoint library to a SD card and transfer the data to the PC program. HumminbirdPC is a waypoint management software.

Doug - I have 2 958's on my boat and the console unit is hard to boot up and now stuck in the startup screen. Any suggestions?

il try to help ;; what exactly do you mean when u say its hard to boot up? do you have to keep pressing the button? sometimes it takes longer for a unit to boot up than other times, if it is processing something, and if you keep jamming the button, the unit can lock up. Try disconnecting the power from the unit completely, then rehook the power, then press the power button ONE time, then see what it does.
Other than that you likely have a voltage problem, its shutting down immediately because of low voltage. unplug it, and check the pin connectors that power the unit. and see what the voltage is.

Sometimes when I push the start button nothing happens. If I push and hold the button for several seconds it will start up. Last weekend I shut it down, and when I went to start it again the start up screen came up and it got stuck there.

, a quick push usually doesnt do it, push and hold for abt 2 seconds but no longer. its not like high speed internet give it a chance to get going.

Pins are Gold Plated to Resist Corrosion. I would double check the power connections. Also do you have the Alarm Set in the Master Menu under Alarms higher than the 788c? If not call HB Customer Service 800-633-1468 they can help for sure Thanks Doug,this solved my problem.I didn't know the alarm setting was adjustable lol.It was set higher then the 788! Thanks again for your help.

1197 - Side imaging & downscreen will not show just a solid black screen. Everything else works, Maps & sonar. The select readout box will not show when selecting depth . hooked up new transducer same problem.
Unit bad? Suggestions? worked yesterday

what is the voltage reading at the unit, ? did u do the self test upon start up, or try restoring factory defaults yet?

Unit bad? Suggestions? worked yesterday Are you testing in the water? If not sounds like it's not getting sonar returns. You have only one transducer or SI transducer with Y Cable and seperate 2d transducer
