what should i look for in a good bass fishing spot this time of year on the north end of lake sam rayburn, and what i need to throw at them, and how do i need to present it. i have only caught 3 small mouth bass in my life. and that was in the early spring right as the sun is coming up. those were on a 6"rubber worm and a cordell cotton rattlin red fin that i lost many moons ago. but have since found that any lure, reel, rod form ones childhood can be found on ebay.any help would be greatly appriciated. just got married, couple months ago me and the mrs went sand bassing with couple my buds that knew what they were doin, had a blast. would like to take her out and latch onto some big uns.

I'd fish dropoffs for post spawn fish. They should be hungry, 2.5squaarbills shad pattern, TRig w LFT ring fry, blk/blue jigs if theres timber around.

Good time to catch fish, get out there and post a report on how you did.

Don't worry about the mule, just load the cart

ok think i may have figured some of this out on my own. ebayed sinkos and came up with a bunch of rubber worms of all colors 5-6" long. flukes arent as cut and dried, but the majority of what i see are beetle spin\roadrunner style jigs.

Senko refers to the brand name worms, Gary Yamamoto, the best soft plastic worm because of how it falls, its composition, and scent.

Flukes are another kind of soft plastic, just a different shape

2.5 is the size of the crankbait and square is the type of bill found on the front. They come square, round, and lipless.

Thought I could help a little. Maybe others can expand

never did much actual fishing when i was younger. my dad not that type. he always say if he had to to feed his family he would hunt or fish. he got a boat when i was in my teens, a fish and ski, glastron. put some miles on that thing. we are in the process of rebuilding it now. was used mostly to ride around and pull a tube. so i havent been around too many people who know the lingo and uses for this stuff. im working on it. figured out road runners and beetlespins will catch sandbass in the angelena in early spring by the boat load thanks to a couple of my buddies. has rekindled an intrest in me to know how to do this.
