Ok, this is my first post. Long time reader and fisher though. I read these post of great hauls off of Hubbard each day. I have been out on Hubbard for the last 3 weeks bank fishing for catfish. I have fished at the old marina spot off of Rowlett Rd. Ive tried fishin off of the south rocks of Rowlett Rd, ive tried the rocks off of 30 and Robertson park. As well as on the piers off of Zion accross from Bass Pro. I HAVE NOT HAD ONE BITE! Not so much as one bump. I have totalled now about 30 hours in the last 3 weeks on that damn lake with nothing. Somebody please help!

I usually have two rods out. Each of them Carolina Rigged with a 2oz weight with a 3 ft leader after it with a small float to keep it suspended and cut chad on a hook. Not one bump. What gives?? I live less than a mile from the lake and have all but gien up on it until I get a kayak.

Try shad or punchbait under cork right against the rocks.

On 30 use a 3 inch float and vary your depths. Make sure your shad is fresh (less than a day old on ice) or caught just before you fish. Also start fishing at sunrise or sunset.
Others will pitch in soin I hope.

6-8 pm is the best time on 30. 3ft under a cork using cj's punch bait or cut shad on a treble worked for me last weekend. Fish as shallow as you can on the rocks.

That's the problem. I've been trying that. I ussually fish in the evenings from around four till sunset. I use shad that I catch righ before I use them. Are yall fishing on the north or south side of the bridges. On the south side I got tired of recasting every two minutes because my corke was pushed back up onto rocks.

Ditto to that. Right now just about any of the punch baits will work, as well as a sponge bait like "Bills." But let's improve the odds a bit. Get ya some milo, put it in a container of some type with a tight lid and fill it with water (some folks prefer beer.) Let it sit out in the sun for a day or two until it sours. When you get to your fishing spot chum out a cup or two. It will draw them in big time. re-chum every hour or so. You can buy the milo at feed stores, but I've found it at dollar stores in bird seed packages. It will have a little sunflower seed mixed in but that's ok. Pretty good sizes bag real cheap. And you don't have the big bag laying around to attract mice. Walmart has it too of course, in the pet section.
