Easy lake man and you don’t have to go far. 2 weeks ago I got 4 right across from the swimming area at oak thicket. Like they said anything watermelon or live bait for the kids. Westside store in Fayetteville can hook you up with some bait or bring a cast net and toss it around the boat ramp. Good Luck!!

If there is a strong south wind Oak Thicket could be hard and dangerous (especially in a canoe) getting out unless you are in one of the cabins that face the cove to the south.

Park Prairie to me would be a better option since it is a peninsula and you have a cove on either side where Oak Thicket is at the back of a cove.

As far as fishing, find grass in 6-8 feet of water, Texas rigged green and blue plastics. Good luck.

Cranks, t-rigs, c-rigs in the grass in 4-8 feet of water. You'll have plenty of places to fish, even in the canoe.
