Anybody ever have this happen:
I took my son fishing Tuesday night and we had an unexpected passenger. A snake had taken up residence on the motor. After several attempts to flush him out the snake decided to crawl up inside the motor. Out of sight out of mind, right. Not so much. Once we put the boat on the trailer we pulled the cover off the motor to look for the snake. After an extensive search we decided the snake has crawled out while we were fishing. Guess who showed up in my garage last night. That's right. Mr snake. Not good. Yep, It was a Moccasin.

I had one come in the boat with me up at Ray Roberts one time night fishing for crappie with a "first date"...saw the snake coming...she freaked out...
I told her that my fishing partner and I had been fishing a collective 75 years and we never have had a snake come in the boat with us...
The snake veered off but 3 minutes later, I hear my partner (who was on the back deck with his date) say "snake in the boat"...
Wow, my date really freaked this time and started climbing on me...I am not kidding...she stopped climbing when she straddled my shoulders....I am laughing my butt off while trying to get her off of me...I finally told her will you get off of me and let me handle this snake...
I went to the back deck...snake (banded water snake) was coiled up in the splash well with my fishing parthner standing there with a fillet knife in one hand while holding a lawn chair like a lion tamer in the other...there was no "just letting it go"...this chick was ballistic...so I hit the snake on the head with the net handle, picked it up, cut the head off, threw the body off the back of the boat, brought the head to the front deck and tossed it in the water under the lights where she could see it was dead...
and get this...she said...Oh Ronnie, you are just like Crocodile Dundee...
funniest thing I have experienced in a long long time..
needless to say it was a great night after fishing...

Had one show up in the splash well on Cedar Creek one time when I was in HS. I had been sitting on the back deck crappie fishing under the Caney Creek bridge. We left and went bassing fishing for a little bit before going over to clear creek bridge. I looked down and there the water snake was coiled up in the well. I about jumped to the front deck. End up flipping it out with the net handle and it swam off. I have no idea how long it was in the splash well.
