Was out with the wife running errands, and we stopped in a little cafe to grab a bite....first thing I noticed, was a nice SLAB crappie hung up for all to see...after further observation I noticed a few placards on the wall...."Crappie Anglers of Texas" it read...asked the gentleman walking by, "who's the CAT member?" (Not noticing the hat he wore proudly, that would have EASILY answered my question) and he replied, "that's me!" I introduced myself as Rowdy and he immediately recognized the name and asked if I was, " THE Rowdy Rankin from the forum?" .....believe the wife's response was, "Oh Great...." Lol small world! Met and talked with George Scott....owner operator of Southern Delight Cafe in Boyd Tx...we chatted for a great while about fishing and what not...all the while, my wife sitting there eating quietly....with an occasional shot about my addiction to the thump...REALLY enjoyed the chat and the baits! Didn't mean to be rude, and not say bye, but George was battering up some chicken fry or something when I left....I have to ad this....MY WIFE HAS THE MOST RIDICULOUS FOOD ORDERS WHEN IT COMES TO EATING OUT......I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!! This has to be crispy and this toasted but, not TOO toasted, and I want this hot but not TOO hot, and my biscuits like my grandma made them....not like moms though....etc. wife ...ok so maybe I exaggerate a little, but you know the type...she ordered and George burned up his pencil writing it down to a "T".....and you wouldn't believe it unless you saw it yourself....all she said when it came out was, "perfect" eek2 my jaw hit my plate and I splattered gravy on the whole place! Couldn't believe what I just heard! OMG long story short, had a GREAT meal, and a GREAT chat....If any of y'all ever pass through Boyd, Tx,stop in and grab a bite! Great food and service, and great American owned and operated establishment! Thanks again George! I WILL be back! flag

Yeppers Ol George can cook and I will vouch for the food as well....it's very good and worth the trip. Oh, and by the way, the jigs behind the counter are made by Larry (rockhopper)and worth the price....you'll have to ask the staff to see the jigs...bring cash for the jigs.

It's a long way from you, but if your ever within reach, it's worth the trip!
