My girlfriend's son is in a scout camp in Irving. They take a yearly camping trip. I was blindsided by a question from the scout leader today. They asked me what I could suggest as a lake to go so they can camp, catch fish and eat their catch for dinner? I am clueless.....any ideas fellas?

You should be able to find a spot at one of these places.

I would suggest Lewisville Lake. Lake Park has a camping area close to the shore where the boys could fish. That stretch of the lake has good fishing for catfish and sandbass. If you hit the points at the right time of the summer, a limit of sandbass is not uncommon in a couple of hours. Me and some buddies you wade out in the water on the points and have sandies schooling all around us. It seemed like every cast we had one on. Hope this helps and good luck!

I'd like to find a place like that myself. Nothing is a sure thing except a fire stick or a ringer telephone.

Load up the scout troop or better yet all scout troops in the USA. Drive to Lake Alan Henry and have every scout eat every spotted bass he or she catches. If you bring 14 million scouts, no one will go hungry for at least 137 years. After 137 years, you might have to start frying some taters.

Suggest the Ray Roberts Lake State Park. There are brush piles just off the Isle du Bois Unit. Bank fishing and camping is good
