Downloading now! This should make the measurements on the pictures we take for our bank tournaments much easier!

not tryin to be a downer but some phone guru will figure out a way to hack it. There will always be dishonest people so I would stick to a ruler for tourneys. On my iPhone I can go in and hack games for extra lives, have ad free everything, free music downloads from places that go directly to my ipod and so on. Any software can and will be hacked somehow. The app is a cool idea though I'd like to try it for iPhone also a girth measurment would be cool also!

One possible solution: did you set your phone to USB storage enabled while you tested the software? maybe you can try to disable it first.

Apologies for the late response - I had forgot to check back on this thread.

There indeed is a folder called "QLSoftwareFile" at the location /sdcard/QLSoftwareFile/

Regarding enables/disabling USB storage I believe HERROUTDOORS answered it:

Also, one should NOT have to disable their SD storage card while using an app. Often times, people access content from their SD cards while simultaneously using their apps.

I know you mentioned that you'll be testing it on an HTC phone, so I look forward to hearing if you can resolve this issue. It might resolve the issue others are having as well using other phone brand besides Samsung.

I downloaded it and tried it. I love the concept, but it didn't work on my phone. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

The app could not get a fix on the coin. It varied in size from much smaller than the coin to much bigger continuously. (It did draw a circle around the coin, it just didn't come close to matching the circumference of the coin. The circle it drew varied from way inside or way outside the coin).

I was using a quarter and had it set on quarter.

Depending on when I clicked the coin the measurements were wildly different. I was measuring a 6" ruler and I got measurements from 90 inches to 6.5 inches.

I tried heads and tails and I'm in good light.

Like I said, I love the concept and I'll probably download it again in the future to see if it works better.

Tried it on my HTC. App froze and now my phone is slow and background is gone. Quickly deleted it before it does anything else.

I should have been more elaborate. I was thinking about using along with the actual ruler. I know that sometimes the measurements on the ruler can be hard to see (low light, blurry, shadows, etc.) and was thinking if you used it with this app that you could see better where and what the measurement actually is. My phone is "rooted" and yes there is software to turn off ads and pretty much anything else you want to do. you can also download free pretty much anything without having to hack anything but I wont go into that... lol

Very cool app! I caught a shark last summer that I never measured that I have a gut feeling is a lot larger than I originally estimated. I'd love to be able to get a good idea of the size from the picture.

here is the picture! I figure if i can get a measurement of how wide my buddy's 4 fingers are I can get a pretty good estimate. I looked all over the net for something like your app! This should be good!

Really cool app! Works like a charm on my phone. Would it be possible to give the option to calibrate next to something like a drivers license or a standard sized credit card for when we don't happen to have a coin handy?
