I have not found them on the beds yet on North half of lake. We continue to only catch one here and one there. Been fishing 3-4 ft of water w/ cricket under float. Did the cold front push them back last weekend or am I missing something? I plan to head back out this weekend.

It may still be to early for crickets here in dfw I can't get a bite on a cricket to save my life you may want to go to worms for a bit

Its not about how deep you can fish but by how you wiggle your worm

War Eagle BB...what part of Conroe are you going to? I may be bank fishing on far north end of Conroe Saturday morning....up at Stubblefield. Went last weekend and it was slow until noon and then they turned on and my son and I caught about 30 and kept about 10 for dinner. We fished earthworms under float from the bank. Crappie may start running by the weekend also? I've heard that under the 1097 bridge from the bank can be productive also but not fished it yet.

Good to hear on the lake rating. I hope the grass carp aren't hurting us.

Taking5kidsfishing, we were in a few stump fields on the north half but south of stubblefield. I swapped to red worms, under a float and tight lining Saturday morning and we had better luck. Caught 20+ but only from a few beds. Even caught some small shell crackers which made me think this is all still in front of us? I grew up in TN but they always hit the bed first there.

Hope to see you there sometime. Where in TN did you come from? I didn't grow up there but went to college on top of Lookout Mountain back in the 80's. Was just back in Chattanooga to see some relatives, visit my old college, and do a bit of fishing there last week. Love that area.

Union City, NW corner of TN. Was just there this weekend and we found several beds on KY Lake.

But on a Conroe note, I found them on a bed last week but none bigger than 1/2 lb. I plan to go back mid week to see if any better size is in there.

Maybe that's the trick. Caught very few on same beds I had last week. Are they sitting on bottom at that depth or suspended?
