I have only caught (2) Bass they weighed 8 lbs @ Lavon (its my home lake)and I had a 10+ on the line last year. Most are an average of 3-4 lbs. Lots of 4-6's and some fat 7's. The 8 lb fish might never be caught though. Id think 7-7.5 BB would be good. Its a great lake for blacks and there are a lot of them. I have never gone bass fishing there and been let down. East Fork Park Boat ramp (Cove side) is protected from all wind and I use this ramp all year long.
