Still looking for a decent/good outboard mechanic near San Antonio to check out a 2001 Mercury 115 HP two-stroke before I try to fire it up after sitting dormant for about three years.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I have a thread in another section, but haven't received much in the way of replies.

Thanks,
WD40

Well I can't help you with a mechanic. But if you want to DIY then here's a link with instructions on how to prepare an engine that hasn't been started in a while. Followed these steps on my Johnson 140 that hadn't been started in several years and it fired right up.

I know you said near San Antonio, however Two Guys Marine in Del Rio is the only one I use and I drive 160 miles one way to take my rig to them. Besides, when they get through I am right at the Diablo East launch ramp on Amistad.

At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

I just took mine to a guy at Seguin marine, just west of the river. First time to use him and just dropped the boat off yesterday. Talking with him he seems to know his stuff. But i just dropped it off so take it for what its worth.

What about Boerne Marine?

You can try Master Marine off of 1604, or Boerne Marine.

Give Wayne Tauer, owner of the Boat Shop (210) 659-7410 a call. He has done work on my Merc, good guy with reasonable prices. He is in the Converse Kirby area.
