I agree with the nixing of the grits in the recipe. Save them for another type of pack laugh

As for certain types of oats or corn: I'd recommend sticking to the cheapest oats and corn prices which I have found to be at aldi.

This prob isn't the case steve, but when i purchased bulk oats at sams or costco, they ended up actually being quick oats and obviously that screws everything up. Im biased when it comes to crm corn, i only use del monte. When it pertains to the sandy texture, i have had that happen when makin grit pack and my ratio was wrong (too much quick grit).
