The best cheesesteak sammich that Ive had wasnt in Philly, but was in Gary, IN at a little sandwich shop across from the T/A Truckstop at I-80 & Burr St (exit 6 if I remember right). Sandwich, fries and drink was about $6 and it was awesome!

Finally tried it with my boys and we loved it.
2 cheesesteaks w shrooms 1 chicken strip basket 3 frostie root beers 1 order sweet potato fries 1 slice cheesecake ------------------------ $41.50 total bill which was a bit shocking. She must've got me for at least $3 for each small bottle of root beer.
The food was fabulous though!!!!!!! We were all in heaven! One of my new go-to places.
The only negative is the setup. One small order area doubles as the pick up area. No number system. No itemized receipt. A huge wall between the table and the kitchen so when she is constantly talking to you or asking questions you can't hear her well nor can you figure out who she is talking to.
I'm doing TAKEAWAYS here from now on instead of dining in.
