So I put in last week for today off, no real reason except to take the boat out. Went to Lake Waurika as usual. I took my pit mix pup with me for the first time and she did great. Anyways the morning started off perfect caught a bunch of 3-6in shad in 2 throws by the ramp then headed off to what me and my buddy call the "honey hole". I only had 4 of my 6 rods ready. So while I got them baited and casted out I started working on the other two. Well I had two rods go down almost at the same time. One was just the rod tip a work over while the other rod looked lime a question mark. So I reeled down on it and got a 30lber in the boat with in 5mins of fishing. The other was just a small eater. I left for the day around 1130am and took home 8 box fish and a 7#hybrid. Of course the big one was let got to fight another day and to be honest I really think from some scars on her mouth she has been caught before. The double   Her tail was jacked!    And my fishing partner for the day!

We love Waurika lake...My middle son lives in Waurika..
We have caught some really BIG Hybrids and big sand bass in that lake...
Watch your self..be careful...That lake is low-- lots of logs and stumps you cant see....

It is lower than we have ever seen it..Still great fishing in holes,drop offs areas,, and uuummmm spots..We are still catching limits of just some Monster Hybrids there..
Use small to med size LIVE SHAD at day light be on the water in your spot..Or after sun up..MOE'S tackle 5" banana yellow chartreuse sassy shad with matching color 3/4 oz jig head .

That's nice taking your dog fishing.Memories she wont ever forget.I used to take my dog hunting.Great companion when you go alone.Nice job on the fish.

@ banderapass1 yeah all these guys were super shallow. Our "honey hole" is surrounded by a ft of water and inside of the "pond" its about 2-3ft with standing timber on the edge. The others came in a little shallower then that. But by this summer you won't be able to get in there if we don't catch any rain.
