I met my dad at PC for some camping and fishing, was a memorable day.

Camp is set up

Dinner is made

Daylight wakes

A few of our fish

I'm making us lunch while dad dreams about the big one that got off at the boat, it really was a giant, I felt bad for him.

I always enjoy seeing the Bald Eagles there.

A few more fish

Outstanding! The loss of the fish is nothing compared to what was gained that day. Nice report - thanks.

Bug-e, PC is a nice little lake with great camping.
The fishing can be great but it can also be a little tough and the wind seems to always blow right down the lake. It's perfect for a kayak andyou can easily cover the entire lake.
The racoons will come visit your camp after dark so anything that smells or looks like it has food in it needs to be put protected. This time we even had a squirrel come to camp during the day and chew on one of our coolers.
It's a state park so no fishing licenese required.
They also have two lighted fishing piers.

Looks like good times. I went there as a kid one summer with the family. Me and my dad lugged a little flat bottom all over East Texas on that vacation just so we could fish that lake and Caddo that summer.

My first time ever fishing in a kayak was with TexanClay on this lake and I loved it. Tons of LMB. I could be misinformed but I heard they use this lake to breed LMB and then stock other lakes with them. I also heard last time they electroshocked it or whatever they found two state records in there. Again, could be a rumor.

The lighted piers are awesome for if the wind picks up, we did really well on them at night.

The racoons are no joke. We involuntarily donated a loaf of bread to one.

Great place to camp and I definitely want to go back.

Love me some Purtis Creek. I have stayed at that same exact camp site before. Looks like you had a great weekend.
