This is my second spring fly fishing so while not a monster to some, I was more than excited!

Fishing a local park in Friendswood for sunfish, caught on a popper.

Went back last night, no bass only sunfish, and small ones at that. Also learned that fly fishing in the wind SUCKS. I'm meeting an instructor tonight for an hour so hopefully my casts will improve!

that's a life truth as well as a challenge to overcome and a new skill set. (casting in the wind and knowing when to quit)

It's in a public park. Actually starting to look alittle dreary around the bank. So much foot traffic has made a trail of dirt, lots of trash and discarded mono. In highschool we used to catch some monster bass out of that pond, and that one in the above pic is the first one I've caught out there in years. Wish they'd make the bass C&R only so the population could come back (and stock some more as well). It's gotten hard to find bass in my area, I'll catch the occasional 6 incher when gill fishing sometimes but thats it. I have my eye on a drainage ditch that converges into a creek by my house though that looks promising and un-fished.

if pressed I prefer fly fishing in the wind to not fly fishing.

Had a one on one lesson today and it was seriously the best money I ever spent. Will definitely do more. Looking at 6wt and 8wt too now! I may be done with conventional fishing.
