Ok, I have a 01 Skeeter 201c with a OX66 Yamaha 200 on her...I was wondering what you guys figure the top speed would be on this boat and how high do you trim one? I trim her all the way down for launch, but once she gets up on pad I only trim it up to the first line right before max trim down...sorry if I seem to not know exactly what I'm talking about..but I have only seen 60ish out of it at a little over 5k RPMS

Thoughts?

trim it till the rooster tail is even with the top of the engine, watch water pressure and if it drops trim down a little till it comes back up.
prop and pitch, wot rpm, prop to pad, jackplate? all these would help give ya a better idea of what it should be doing.

When you get on plane start trimming up. You will notice a large improvement when the boat lifts enough to quit plowing. It will seem like the boat came unstuck.
Then keep trimming up by tapping the up trim and watch your speed. When it either becomes uncomfortable for you to drive or the boat starts slowing you can find the right spot.

Usually the right spot is near the top trim level.

Low to mid 60's is all that boat should run. If you get it running a little faster the rpms should increase. Fifty five hundred is much better.

when i drive one like that, i trim it all the way out. and MAYBE bump it down once and see if the speed picks up.. if it doesn't i air it out.

Thx guys...the prop is a 25p...I'm gonna use Steve's formula to measure the jack plate to see if it's correct
