I'll buy them when i can get them on sale through academy. But, if not, ill always buy owner hooks. I like their flippin hook with the keeper the best.

Not to me for the price. I bought some on sale and two were sharp the others I had to sharpen. I havn't used them enough to see any difference in hook up ratio.

i've never used them because i've heard this exact thing on multiple occasions so I usually stick with Gammy's or Mustad Ultrapoints but whatever you have confidence in is what you should use.

To me, the wire is TOO thick. I tried 'em but went back to Gamakatsu EWG.

...another case of marketing outrunning the actual product.

Great Hooks. TBH, I think they make for a easier Hook-Set.
I'm pretty sure I've rolled tips on many hooks, regardless the brand.

They are about the only hook I have have found that don't straighten out on my hook set. They are the only hook I use anymore. My experience has been that the hook up ratio is a lot higher and they don't throw them as easy. Seems like no one mentioned that they are MADE IN THE USA!!!!!!!!! That means our money stays here when we buy them......To me that matters still...wish it did to more people! Just my 2 cents!

The hole will be proportionate to your hookset. You want the hook to peirce the fish. The rip/tear is from the pressure that the angler puts during the hooks set and then as the angler/fish are fighting one another.. Example how many have put a fish cull ring in a fish. They have no holes, you puncture a hole with the clip, later you go to cull that fish and you lift that fish up by the string. Did you notice the tear the fish now has from the added pressure that you and the fish put on the portion of the mouth as they shake back and forth. Mmm hook and cull ring do the same thing. This is simple physics in my book.

I like the trokar, I do not have to set the hook hard at all to get penetration, thus have a less chance of tearing a bigger hole in the fish. All hooks will and can assit in tearing a whole. You want the best, sharpest hook for the best penetration with minimal effort.
