I have done it on a boat slip and caught smallish carp foro about 3 hours straight. I would get bit in about 30 seconds and reel in a fish. You have to find the right bait though. I tried maize...nada...changed to bread....non stop action
PB Common Carp....... 38 lbs PB Mirror Carp........12 lbs 8 oz PB SM Buffalo........ 53 lbs PB Grasser........... 48 lbs 4 oz PB Blue cat.......... 17 lbs (caught on maize)

Spent my childhood in barges vertical fishing for carp and it is a blast. Just tie your rigs down to soemthing though, or you will lose them.
I thank God for each day!

Its a lot of fun but you have to be glued to your rods, one glance to check out a hot chick, and bam, rod is history...

Metal rails is what I trying to say. sorry about that. And it helps sooo much to ballance your rod. Magnifies the bite and the bigger Carp wont feal the weight or rod tip and continue to take the bait.

I remember the grill, breakfast in the morning, lunch and dinner as well! I spent a lot of my child hood fishing that barge on weekends with my uncle in the 90's.
I thank God for each day!
