line set up shakey head

what line do you use on your spinning rod for shakey heads? i mainly use 10lb flouro but want to try braid to flouro leader that way i can save some dough. so what lb braid should i pick up and whats the best knot?...thanks for any info

#20 suffix 832 braid, Inviz-X leader in #8-12 depening on technique. Joined with a uni-uni knot. Nothing else matters.

783 MH Spinning 10# Suffix 832 main line, 8# Fluorocarbon leader. Uniknot to hold and touch of super glue.
783 Casting with 12# Fluorocarbon.

Also be sure to back spool with some cheap mono in like #15 or you'll get braid slip. Backs pool about 1/3 of the spool. You flouro leader should be so that the knot is in-between the reel and first guide.

I throw it on a baitcast with a medium rod and 15lb seagar invisx. It is my go to bait for any situation.

30 lb power pro, 20 lb invisx.
The light stuff works great in open water, but for boat docks and heavy timber, it is just asking for heartbreak.
Trial and error brought me to this combo. I still get tickled listening to all they guys talk about getting broke off fishing shakeyheads. Funny, I haven't broke off a single fish in the last 3 1/2 years since I went to this combo.
Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!
