Has anyone been able to get any at Matagorda? If so where and how? I made some of the suction tube pump things and tried but couldn't find any of the elusive little creatures.

I catch allot of them but more for a beach activity with the kids. They are really fragile and don't stay on a hook real well.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Little know fact: TP&W has set a limit on Ghost Shrimp of 20 per day.

Specks,
This web site pretty much explains it. Also if you search Youtube for ghost shrimp you can find videos of people doing it.

I built two of them but couldn't produce any critters with them last time I tried it. I think the problem was I couldn't find any place that was muddy enough.

Our kiddos had a blast catching them in the surf down in Port A over Thanksgiving. The gulls sure knew what those sucker pipes were used for. They'd follow you around waiting on a hand out.

I used them as bait in Port a recently; did great catching skipjack. Strange but sometimes 2 or 3 would come out of a single hole.
