This morning I got out about 9:40 and fished til 1 PM. Caught 90: 87 whites, 2 yellow bass and a cat. About 2/3 of whites were 13 to 16 inch size and the rest were 10 to 12 inches. Stopped 1st at Long Ridge and marked fish in 18-19 fow. Sat there and caught a limit of whites in 30 minutes - 90% of them were the big ones. Left to find them at some other spots. None at Midlake Hump and Key Ranch. Found some at Old Pond Dam but all were 10 to 11 inches. Moved on to Merimac Point and found some more but these too were 10 to 11 inches. Went across the lake to Iron Wall Hump and got into some big ones again. Caught em steadily there until time to go in at 1 PM.
Here's typical white caught today (broke tip off my rod trying to take this pic -aarrghh):

Dropped the boat in the water about 7:20 PM and eased out to Saint Annes Point. Piddling around I caught 2 nice crappie and a yellow bass. It was calm by this time, and I heard hybrids smacking the surface in the direction of the dam. So I cranked up and got to them at The Drop-off (far south edge of Crappie Island Flats). Fish were in 14.5 fow. Big sandies and hybrids were busting the surface. I managed 4 legal hybrids and 9 large whites before it got too dark. While I was catching them I could hear several other schools feeding on the surface south and west of me. Looks like the early and late surface action is here.

Caught all fish on #4 silver Mepps spinner.

Nice day! How hard would it have been to do what you did today in a Jon Boat with a trolling motor?

Very hard for the morning trip - too much ground to cover and a little too choppy. In the evening, you could have fished around Saint Annes Point with jon boat, but hearing the hybrids hitting off in the distance, with limited daylight you couldn't have gotten to them in time.

Were you vertical jigging the mepps? or just letting it sink to bottom and reeling it back? new to hybrid/white fishing and thought it would be crazy fun for my daughters.

I tried reeling fast on top and letting it fall to bottom and reeling up from the bottom. I caught more reeling up from the bottom. I think the #4 Mepps didn't match the shad size and fish could tell that better at the surface.
