I know I know another one of these and I always said I wouldent do it but I had a question. For lews owners only I have heard that they have trouble casting lite lures and hard to dial in for flipping lite baits. I was just wondering if there was any truth to it or do those people just not know how to use them? I wanted to know before i got one and the one im looking at is the Lew's Tournament Pro Speed Spool. And I dont need input on other reels cus I have owned all the Revo's and Shimano's from citica to Core. I want to know about this one. Thanks.

I am on the fence on this issue. I bought one and only tried it with heavy stuff. I loved it so much with the heavy stuff I decided to buy 5 more. I have had a lot of trouble getting them dialed in with the light stuff. One of the problems is that there are so many different adjustments that it takes a lot of time to get them set right. I have most of them to the point now that I can use them pretty good but I'm not convinced hat there is not something better out there and they are finicky .

The tournaments and up cast light lures well because of the dual brakes, if you like to set them. I typically use them completely free and thumb for spool controll. With that being said, the tournament pros are outstanding reels. I typically use something around a half ounce, but I do throw wacky trick worms and finesse worms with no trouble. Id say that you'll figure out where to set them for any application you have in mind.

I use mine for weightless fishing worms - I have several $ 300 reels- they do just as good and the double set of brakes makes it easy to set

I cast wightless trick worms with 2/0 ewg lightwire hook an impressive distance imo. I have zero complaints with my tourney pro other than the fact that I only have 1.

They do take time to dial in with light lures, maybe a little more than other reels, but once it's dialed in it's awesome.

From the Tournament MG & up they are great reels for casting, pitching, flipping, ext...as with any reel its takes a little time to adjust them for your personal preference. Personally I think the new BB1 is the best for flipping & pitching, it free spools very easily.

I run my TP1Hs on free spool and cast a mile with light and heavy baits alike
