what's your technique? Do you prefer an electric or standard fillet knife? I still mess up about half of my fillets by cutting through the skin when trying to separate it from the meat.

Yup, standard fillet knife. keep about 30 in the boat. easier to get the red meat out.
When and if they do get my guns...they will most definitely be hot and empty. Vera's PB=45.17 Jasons PB=76.94

I use a 7 or 8" Dexter Russel. Holds an edge great. Makes short work of cleaning fish.

Electric knife all the way. Been using the same set of blades on mine for 14 years.
I only clean 20 to 40 fish a year though....

Both. I start out using the electric, then when it starts heating up, I'll break out the bubba blade till it cools off

I use a 7 or 8" Dexter Russel. Holds an edge great. Makes short work of cleaning fish. Been using an 8" Dexter for over 10 years for all of my fish cleaning and meat cutting needs, even de-boneing deer and hogs. Love those knives I have a couple and have flat out worn a few out. matt

A guy like me could get by just fine. I buy a couple down on the coast every year when I go. Best $7.00 I spend on vacation.

I use my son! We started keeping a whole lot more fish for the freezer once he started cleaning them Made him learn how to do it with a standard Rapala filet knife and he is better than me now. I can handle an electric knife pretty good though.
