did my install today and everything is awesome thanks for the advice guys and help picking out a unit...
one question is while putting around the unit is awesome and gives out some amazing data .. saw some pillars underwater today and it wa plain old awesome.
however once i get on plane no more data just 0.00....
is there a way to get data at high speeds or on plane? or is this unit going to just do this?
the boat came with a mark 5 pro with through hull and it works fine at high speeds ... guessing its turbulence that is causing me to loose data???

mine don't work at high speed the told me it was the transducer

I'm no expert, but I don't think DI works at high speeds. Also, this might seem stupid, but is the transducer installed so that it is still under water when the boat is on pad? I only ask because the unit that came with my boat didn't have the transducer installed right, and once I got on plane I lost all the data.

My elite 7 works fine at speed, but my boat only goes 30 mph.

yeah its stillin the water on plane its hanging under the first lip...on the bottom not the bottom that rides on the trailer of course but the first bottom lip up and its hanging down... i cant imagine it being out of the water on plane??? but maybe lol
yeah it does fine till i get over about 25 or so then nothing at 55 mph its all 0000"s lol
it maybe be nothing i can do and its not a huge deal but if its something i can fix i wanna fix it thats all

Bottom surface of transducer must be touching water to get sonar reading. Over about 10-15 mph the downscan will not read no matter what.

Sounds like you have the transducer mounted on the step at back and at speed transducer will not be in the water. Bottom of transducer must be slightly below the most bottom surface of the boat---yes the surface that rides on the trailer.

I love the sonar and down image on mine, however, the map takes forever to load up...especially when I zoom in or out. Does anybody else have this issue?

no mine loaded just fine yesterday.. i wish there was a way to make the map move and keep your boat icon centered.... i had to move the curser around to find me sometimes lol

Hit menu then "return to vessel". This should exit cursor mode, and keep your boat centered on the map.

My map can be slow to load some times too.

Mine works fine on plane and no problem loading maps. The user manual is a little vague though.

So you think it would help if I hooked up an external GPS or would a lack of voltage affect the maps from loading?
