The Orvis Company, Inc. of Manchester, Vermont today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Scientific Anglers and Ross Reels businesses from 3M (NYSE:MMM).

I sure hope they keep making the Grand Slam line, maybe even for cheaper...just wishful thinking

Orvis is very smart to market all brands seperately and not mix and match in the same catalogs or web sites. Just my 2 cents


I swear I caught so many fish that the water level went down!

This really sucks IMHO....Orvis has NO pull in a legitimate fly fishing industry!!! Now that Ross Reels and SA are even ASSOCIATED with Orvis......sales are going to plummet and both companies will eventually lose credentials!!!! Ross Reels especially......a great company now gone to waste!!! Neither company will get any of my support!!!!


God does not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent fishing.
