Hey all

I have a 4 bank minkota charger, and I am planning a two week fishing trip to northern Minnesota. I bought a cheap generator, that was way too noisy, and blew my inline fuses when I hooked it up to my charger, needless to say it did not recharge my batteries. Does anyone know what size generator I will need to effectivly recharge my batteries through my onboard charger? Also is there any brands that anyone would recommend over others. Obviously being as far north quieter the better.

Thanks

Get a Honda Inverter 1000 watt. It will be all you need and is super quiet. I had one for years when I was racing cars and it ran any battery charger I hooked up to it. They are a little pricey but well worth it.

Believe it or not Aldi the grocery store has a 2000 watt generator for around $169.

Another vote for Honda generators here. They can cost double or even more for the same wattage, but they are efficient and quiet both in terms of actual sound as well as electrical output noise (which I have seen give some drag racers problems with battery chargers).

You get what you pay for.
