I haven't been to Cali in about a year. Just wondering how the reds and/or catfish are doing from a boat or the bank.

My wife just retired from her job this week (Tuesday) and is ready to fish Cali. She doesn't like my little jon boat. She'd rather fish from the bank. She's after me to take her fishing soon. So, I need to get her on some fish. She's a hard core fisher person.

We just came back from 7 days camping/ catfishing at Lake Livingston last week. She caught alot of blues there. Now, She's already having fishing withdrawals, and giving me the blues about taking her to Cali soon. LOL.

Any "catching" reports are appreciated.

Tight lines all!

The reds have started to hit toward the 181 cove area, but the catfishing has been pretty slow.
Might be several days before the fishing picks up again after this frontal passage stirred things up.

Just one more cast!

Took a family out on Sunday and caught 14 cats (blues and channels) and one red. Fishing was a little slow but all in all a great day. Also went out Wednesday night unil Thursday morning to try some new methods....4 bites no fish!

Went to Cali on Sunday fishing for Blue cats. Got fresh shad about 20 good size by the boat ramp. Good wind blowing about 15 mph, used two drift anchors, drifted fished from power lines too dam and just caught one channel cat. Anchored fish by the 181 cove with just one more channel cat. Used up the shad cut and whole, then called it a day. Fished from 11:30am-3:30pm. Weekend before caught 4 striper on chicken liver in the 181 cove, lost one.
