We drove down to Galveston Saturday morning and fished the rocks where the bay meets the gulf. I don't know what it's called but it's at the very end of the sea wall. So my wife and the kids didn't fish at first then some guys a little ways down from use landed a nice bull red. Couple minutes later another then a 4' black tip. All of a sudden my reel starts to scream I grab it and set the hook and try to slow it down but that didn't stop it and SNAP its gone. Well that got the wife to start fishing. 15 minutes later her rod starts to bend she grabs it and the fight is on. She got it in 42" bull red. That's her first big fish ever. Talking about a proud husband yep that was me. So we kept fishing and only got a little stingray. Next day we hit the dike at Texas city. Nothing biting but friends daughter caught a 18" black drum. Couple guys down caught big red. The kids start catching tons of croaker and perch. They having a blast. Over all not best catching trip but it was fun seeing the girls catch there fish. Next weekend we are off the matagorda. Tight lines
