Well, I tied my first rabbit jig tonight. It's kinda plain but I think when it get's wet, it outta lay right. I was struggling with hair jigs until I saw this posted on another forum

Shad Gray Barred Zonker from Crazy Angler
White Thread
Silver Krystal Flash
Now I GOTTA get me some more colors of Zonker's!!

Mostly, it's FALLING OUT!! Seriously, I tied a jig with some cat squirrel tail and thought I wrapped it tight enough and with enough thread but when it was done, every time I would pull on the material to smooth it, several hairs would come out. Plus, I didn't know how to use the zonker strips. Was I supposed to cut the hair off the skin? Surely not cuz that hair is so short. So, what to do with that hide the hair is attached to. I figured it out after watching the video.

Nice jig again pepop... That rabbit fur looks a lil tricky.. I'm curious if it fishes better than a maribou or feathers tho

I like to rap it very tight to the point that the thread may brake. Then take some glue to it CA glue thick then rap it more the idea is to get the hair full of glue and tie it in tight. Its tricky and I don't think is is any better then marabou or feathers just a fun thing to try. If it was a bass jig tie on zonker strips and make minnows.
Your jig looks like it will catch fish but best bang for the buck I dont think rabbit is it.
But some one may prove me wrong

I guess you guys are talking about Jig Craft, huh. It's only fair you know, LOL, me & a couple others refer folks over there to threads on here frequently. DPJ, your step by step on 2 colors of chenille is up on that site in a couple of threads, plus a few others. If you're like me at all, I need all the reference material I can get ahold of.
