 4wt tfo quality test with hybrid and tons of sandies.

Well Mateo clamete(Matthew) and I headed out this morning in search of sandbass. We found a good group of quality fish. We started doubling up frequntly and were having a ball.   . Then finally I got a hook set and knew immediately as line started peeling of somthing about this fish was different. I ran over my reel on a trip a while back an replaced it with a cheapo from Walmart there and never replaced it. My finger was burning trying to break the spool and not get a backlash. My eight six 4 wt. tfo stood strong as it was doubled over holding off run after run. It was finally worn down after several min as well as my wrist. The tfo preformed flawlessly but wa all the load my little creek rod could take. After furthe examination the hook was almost strait lol what a way to spend the morning.   later in the morning some bluegill were rising to midges so I put on a size 20 phesant tail. After a few gills it took of caught a nice sandbass on it lol I am sure they remember eating them growing up. I have caught massive trout on 22-24 size flys. I guess sandbass are no different.  its a little blurry but you Han make out how strait the hook is.

Man I would love to get into some of that. Still have yet to catch a sandbass on my fly rod

I don't do just a lot I warm water flyfishing but its the only way to go for sandbass.

Wow, what a fish! Is that a stiper or a hybrid? I bet it was a blast trying to keep it on that fly.

  snuck out befor work this morning this one really didn't need to eat again lol. Now I am exausted an work 13 hours today with no break.
