Today I fished Lake Tawakoni,and let me tell ya we were Jungle Rodeo Fish'n in 24-30 mph winds. That's if you can hold your jig still for 8 sec? If you do you can win the big prize,if you can't you get hung up in a tree with the deck of the boat yawing 12-16".
Big plus is we had the whole lake to our selves
Catch was 19 fat crappie
6 Kitty Kats
And "NO" throwbacks....well one kat that was just plain immature and was talking "Way" too much trash,he got the reprieve
And I would like to Thank God for a safe trip
,it would'a scared the crapp'ola out of most peoples.No helmets,No PFD's on

Hmmm, you got a good boat...I had a hard time staying in the cove in 15-17mph over there...

Lake Lavon was really calm until right at noon yesterday. Then it got crazy! One boat was swamped at the ramp. We held another while his buddy backed the truck down the ramp and would have otherwise had the same issue. Getting loaded was really rough on several guys. There were several boats that came to the ramp and we had to help them get on their trailers. It took about an hour to go from beautiful calm water to a horrible place to be.

Yeah I knew pretty much what I was getting into,thats why I picked where we went.It had a protected ramp and I knew the area I wanted to fish was on the wind side,but I saw boats coming in to the ramp as we were leaving drain a ton of water outta their boat,told my partner in crime "Get Your Rain Suit On Now"!

I have been on that lake several times (and loved it) & wind is not your friend there!

I will say that my home lake of RR is worse than Tawakoni with high wind, especially when your not catching any fat fish.

RR was rolling yesterday...anchored and taking water over the bow...

I avoid that lake even though it may be the best fishing in Texas. Someone must be prayin for ya. We'll just play this song in your honor:
