My livewells are leaking into the bottom of my boat or the pump is leaking I'm not exactly sure. Is there any special way or any problems that you guys may have com across on a 96 skeeter 150zx? I pulled apart as much as I could in the back of the boat but I can't figure out how to get into it.

Both of my recirc pumps have cracked out due to freezing over the years i changed styles so I had to change out the enter housing
Easiest way to look at them is fill the wih water from the hose and pull everything to see where the water is coming from

Easiest way to look at them is fill the wih water from the hose and pull everything to see where the water is coming from This is how I tracked down my leaks. Filled the livewells and checked with a mirror and a flashlight. Of course I had already removed all obstructions to gain access to the plumbing first. I was on Fork last weekend with a friend and we saw a skeeter that would pump out what I assume was bilge water every three minutes or so, possibly due to a leak.

That has to be what it is because my boat almost sunk yesterday on cedar creek. I had to pull the plug and make my buddy ride on the nose of my boat so we could plane out.

Mine was three leaks combined. One was a bad livewell valve (replaced), one was a leaky fitting at the bottom of the livewell (repaired), and one was a cover plate in the splashwell that was leaking water in (repaired). Fixed all three after locating the leaks. Had to pull some cirque du soleil moves to find the livewell fitting leak. lol

I run a ZX180 originally purchased in 1996 replaced twice under warranty. The livewell overflow hoses are positioned up and over the fuel tank that runs across the entire compartment. Water does not flow up hill. With the outlet positioned below the waterine when the boat is not on plane the overflows do not work and periodic running of the bilge pumps are required. The livewells on mine overflow into the rear compartment while the areators are running even as the recircs are used because they add fresh water too. Your leak might not be a leak at all it may be because of this design. I have never heard of a 1996 ZX150 check your hin # last two digits are year model mine after replacement is 98 original was 96. I have been wrong before and don't know how a ZX150 is built. Hope this helps.

my zx 185 has had issues with the livewell for a year or two. If I leave one side on recirculate, and the other on empty then they dont leak, but if I change the valve settings then I get leaks, and my bilge pump starts up. I can't get to the valves (looks like the gas tank will have to be pulled), but I have decided that the valves must be cracked. Maybe if you change the valve settings it would be an interim fix for you.
