So many organizations to fish these days....Media has been there for close to a decade or more now? It seems as though Media is always looking to improve and keep up with the changes in the sport, to help grow the participation and quickly and effectively resolve the anglers issues.

I personally am thankful of Media and their dedication to getting it right, not demanding my time of 3 hours on Friday night before the tournament for a meeting that I or my partner need not to attend like some trails do.

This whole topic arose because Tommy was just trying to accomidate for anglers who wanted to fsh both while still trying to hold on to their respective points in the two trails.

This can pose a problem with culling as I stated earlier. Not to mention the five bass in a live-well rule (credible tournaments all have this rule)

Bowlers only use one ball, should they be allowed more? smile

With your logic, then we should take some side cutters and cut all our treble hooks down to one hook. Because we wouldn't want to catch more than one fish on our treble hooks baits now would we? It doesn't cause a problem with culling unless the person is a dummy.

You are taking it way out of context and struggling to grasp the analogy he is presenting.

If you have 5 fish in the livewell and are using a a rig, middle of summer, and hook 3 fish. How long will it take you to cull? This is somewhat of a unique situation, but that is the question at hand.

Also, a crankbait is a SINGLE bait with multiple hooks, intended for 1 fish. The a-rig is a multi-bait presentation designed to catch multiple fish at the same time. You have stated you don't like media's rules or their scheduling. Seems like you should just fish something else.
I don't need your opinion on where I should fish. If you need to cull 3 fish and you can't figure that out then you don't need to be fishing tournaments. IMO...

I do not appreciate your insult either. I am not here to be mean spirited at all, and neither should you.

The point here is as TD's we should make a schedule & stick to it as long as it is safe. Our job is to be consistent.
As for Christ followers gambling that would indicate the possibility of making money LOL. All kidding aside you are putting your skills up against anothers IMO this is not gambling but if it was I have not seen a scripture that prohibits gambling. The souls that need the word are not in church they are everywhere but so in order to find them we must go out into the wilderness. Our goal @ CCBC is to bring people the Lords message & to Love them as Christ loved us. As I am sure is the case with FOM.
All of this being said Gordan is a good man & a follower of Christ I have known him for a long time & have seen this. I have not always agreed with him but he does try to keep his people happy. I also know his door is always open for those that agree or disagree with him.

John 14:23 Anyone!! who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love him. We will come to him & make our home with him.

Maybe this was all discussed by the tournament directors prior to anything changing? I have seen anglers on Fork enter 3 tournaments simultaneously with the tournament directors agreeing on the format.

The A-Rig itself is restricted only by how many hooked lures you can use on one. The A-Rig flew on the scene quite rapidly and unsuspectingly.
Have you ever had to change patterns, techniques, or lures while fishing to "stay up"? Tournament Organizations have to stay up too. Media Bass still sees multi-hooked baits (especially one that is designed to catch five bass at a time) as a potentially serious threat to the "Sportsmanship" of our tournament angling.

How can anglers safely cull five in the box and five or ten more in the boat?

Please, be accurate when making public statements.

I thought I was being pretty accurate. You took an electronic device rule that was meant for 2 way radios and Cellphones and used it to ban Hydrowave...... Then you had to Back off because it became to popular...... That sounds Kneejerk to me.

The Arig was the same thing. Your original ruling said one Bait and one rod until you realized that made guys who had been fishing the donkey rig for years upset..... Then you had to back off that rule too.... This is hurting you now more than anything. The Arig is huge and Guys are fishing trails where they can fish them.

I have No problem with you banning whatever you want to...it's your trail. I am just giving a reason as to why attendance is down... Because those rules aggrevated people and they decided to fish somewhere else.

I really enjoy the West division. Tommy puts on a great tournament in my opinion. I would love to see 40-50 teams in these events, but its just hard to afford it these days. Our bass club used to have 80-90 in each tournament and now we are anywhere from 40-60. Speaking for myself, I have a 20 month old son so I have to pick and choose what trails, and tournaments I fish. Tommy, don't let the opinion of one knucklehead discourage you. Just keep coming to the West division. I haven't heard any complaining from any guys about the way you run your tournaments. And one other thought, just be glad you live in an area that has WATER! The lakes we fish have 5-6 tournaments every weekend because they are the only lakes that you can get into to fish. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the good work Tommy.

Wow, all I did was offer an explanation as to the reasons I have heard from a lot of guys as to why they don't fish media... I never asked Tommy or Gordon to change anything.

I wasn't being hateful, just honest and upfront about something that I KNOW cost them anglers and still is.

It's probably pretty important for you to know I don't throw the Arig and never have, but there are a ton of guys that haven't put it down all year and they are seeking trails they can fish it in.
