I had no idea Navionics has a mobile app. What's the difference between buying a chip for $100+ and the app? Is there any way to buy the app, download the maps from your phone and put them on your electronics?

I had no idea Navionics has a mobile app. What's the difference between buying a chip for $100+ and the app? Is there any way to buy the app, download the maps from your phone and put them on your electronics?

The app is actually pretty nice, use it all the time. If you have a chartplotter I would still save up for the map but the app is a good thing to have in the mean time. You cannot download the map to your chartplotter, but navionics is adding new things all the time so who know what this year will bring

For 10.00 the app is hard to beat. It always matches my lowrance.

Navionics pissed me off when it somes to apps. I bought their Lake insight south app a couple of years ago and when an android update came out the app would not work anymore and they choose to make a new app and did bot update the old one. This was a minor android update as well.. it went from something like 2.1 to to 2.2. I can also say that I paid more than $10.
