I did not post a picture as when you are catching 110 to 125 lb alligator gar they all start to look the same
This has been an incredible run off big fish , April was great May is starting off with a bang

I can't wait to get this started! I ordered some 24" steel leaders, 300yrd of 65# braid and I'm about to start getting some bait together. Every time I looked at your pictures they gave me hope

Snorgge 65 lb braid is a little small it will break on you pretty bad and dont use j hooks use trebles I use 150 lb Power Pro for a reason IT DONT BREAK

Unfortunately money had a hand in my decision I think I'm more shooting for some long nose gar to start with and creep my way up to gator gar. I've got a plethora of both J and treble hooks so I'm gonna see what this brings to me. I'm anxious for alligator gar but me thinks it might be best to start with some smaller fry's until I really get more confident. Thanks for the advice though! I'll look into the 150lb line. Power pro is about the only type of line I use anyway! Good quality stuff.

Although I'm told frayed nylon rope will work well with long nose
