Not if you were veeeerrrrrryyyyyy sneaky. ninja

I thought I could be sneaky when I first got kayaking in my head. But there at NOTHING subtle about how I'm doing it!

I don't know about arsenic turning water blue, but copper in the water probably would. The only other thing that would cause blue water is if it was glacial (like the Kenai river in Alaska), but we know thats not the case here!!!!

actually those youtube videos are from the old rock quarry in Melissa (just north of McKinney) off 121. I live next door to this quarry and have fished a few times. 15' to 20' straight drop from the bank. Caught a few dinks, but nothing good. I know there are some monsters lurking beneath there. I'll see if I can find a pic to post.

Too bad going at night would defeat the purpose of getting good video footage in there. I figure if the cops do come I can play dumb and get off with a stern warning? hmmm

The owner of that property is name Lucian Hines. He owns Stinky's Metal in Sherman. His son-in-law owns the recycling plant just east of the county road that quarry is on. He will call the cops on you. He shot and killed an intruder at his metal shop in Sherman earlier this year. He told the two intruders that the fun was over and it was time to head back to the office and call the cops. They had other ideas and ran. One of them got away and he shot the other in the leg. That guy later ended up dying from complications related to the shot. So the moral of the story is, don't run if he shows up.

The quarry behind blockbuster is still there. It hasn't been filled in. The city owns that property and they built a chain link fence blocking any easy entrance into that area. Plus, that quarry is located on Redbud. A large portion of the Sheriff's Deputies use that road to get to the jail. Just an fyi.

Well, that pretty much just burst my bubble. I'm not too opposed to going to jail. I'm very opposed to getting shot.

Any contact info for Lucian? I wonder if he'd let me kayak on it for a half day if I paid him?

The number for Stinky's is 903-892-4900. I would try his son-in-law Joe at OK Recycling At 972-542-5528. He'll be easier to deal wth. I imagine they would be opposed for insurance purposes.
