I have only used an A-rig once to run off a guy who dropped in on my spot during a tournament and was within10 feet. We could have touched arms.
That said, Brass-N-Blades makes one out of tungsten that will not bend and always pops back into it's original shape.

The Yum flash mob is awesome and you don't need to use swimbaits with it, big grubs will do the job.

I use the Santone Slamma Rig, it's great and holds up to a lot of fish and big ones

Flash Mob Jr. is the only one you need. Just make sure to change the swivels out to some stronger ones. My favorite baits on them in the clear water up here in Arkansas and Oklahoma are the 3.5 inch YUM Walleye grubs with a little 4 inch swim bait in the middle. My roommate as done real well on this exact set up on Rayburn too. I've caught just as many big fish on the small grubs then on big swimbaits if not more on the grubs. If you get to go to a heavy populated small mouth lake, they are the best bite on the A-Rigs. They knock the [censored] out of em! Have also used them striper fishing while still using the 3.5 in grubs and have boated a 30 lb striper and a 20 lb striper. I throw mine on a 7' 11 H rod with a REVO Winch and 25 lb fluoro. Use to throw braid but ever since I switched I feel like I've been getting more bites and when I get hung up I seem to be able to get more free with the fluoro. This time of year I don't think the gear ratio on a reel matters but when it's cold I like to throw mine on a 5 gear ratio reel working it real slow off the bottom

Here's a Table Rock 4 pounder on the Flash Mob Jr. with grubs in November. Here's those stripers I was talking about too. Was throwing 65lb power pro when fishing for them.

Threw one today for the first time. Only took 3 casts before I got bit. Its a lot more fun than I imagined throwing it. Its also a good workout. Caught a few fish on it but one thing I can say is the sandbass like it too.
