I'm a bass fisherman but for some reason decided today I wanted to try catfishin I had little luck with a package of dead shad on Athens today. But now my interest is peaked I'm going to try cedar creek or Tawakoni this week where do I start and what should I use? Should I be out out in the middle or shallow? Thanks in advance for the info

Good stuff. I've always wondered why so many people like catching bass. More work and less fish. Great luck.

Shad will not be a problem... They are shallow
Go get em!
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

To much money for bass gear and nobody even keeps the fish ![hammer hammer](/forums/images/graemlins/default/hammer.gif) Hell to best part of a good 5lb bass is the eating ![cheers cheers](/forums/images/graemlins/default/cheers.gif) there is nothing like sitting back and waiting for that pole to rip down and touch the boat though ![banana banana](/forums/images/graemlins/default/banana.gif)

It is an area on Lake Tawok--

You can catfish from a bass boat with a bait caster you just need a bigger hook. try fishing along the original river bed. Cedar creek has been better than tawakoni for me
